ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a warm, reliable Disability Support Worker to join our team. This is a flexible, community-based role supporting NDIS participants with psychosocial disability and mental health needs across home and community settings in Queensland.

As a Disability Support Worker with Care Compass Collective, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day living support, community participation and personal care tailored to each participant's NDIS plan and goals
  • Deliver strengths-based, trauma-informed support that builds confidence, independence and practical daily living skills
  • Help participants connect with social activities, community programs and routines that matter to them
  • Support skill development across areas like budgeting, cooking, transport, communication and self-care
  • Work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and allied health professionals
  • Maintain accurate support notes and documentation in line with NDIS Practice Standards
  • Uphold the rights, dignity and choice of every person you support

This role suits people with a background or genuine interest in mental health, community services, social work, psychology, nursing or allied health.

ABOUT YOU

You bring warmth, patience and genuine care to everything you do. You understand that trust takes time, and you know how to meet people where they're at without judgement.

You will bring:

  • Experience in disability support, mental health, aged care, community services or a related field
  • A strengths-based, person-centred approach to support
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability, professionalism and a genuine commitment to participant wellbeing
  • Lived experience or qualifications in psychology, social work, nursing, community services or disability studies are highly regarded

REQUIREMENTS

  • Blue Card (Working with Children Check) or willingness to obtain
  • Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening Clearance) or willingness to obtain
  • Current Driver's Licence and access to a comprehensively insured, reliable vehicle
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
  • Current Police Check or willingness to obtain
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate (or willingness to complete)
