About the Role

Cardinia requires a Maternal Child Health (MCH) Nurse Team Leader to oversee our Universal Home Visiting team. This position will lead and support the delivery of consistent and high quality MCH Services (MCH), for all Cardinia Shire children and families in accordance with the Victorian MCH framework.

We welcome applications from qualified Maternal and Child Health Nurses seeking to join a growing team of dynamic and motivated individuals providing innovative, family centred services. Our service is comprised of a dedicated Home Visiting team, a Key Ages and Stages Outreach at Home program, as well as the Enhanced MCH team and the Universal MCH team, with a highly supportive admin team.

About You

You will have experience working as an MCH nurse and delivering a service to infants, children, mother’s and families. With proven experience in a leadership role, you will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage individuals to achieve a responsive and high-quality standard of work. You will be a flexible and dynamic individual who enjoys the challenge and variety of working within a rapidly growing community with a mix of rural and metropolitan locations, and with families of a variety of backgrounds. You will also be someone who enjoys working in a team which adapts and innovates and has done so with great success during the recent most challenging times. Innovations are in response to the needs of the community, as well as the needs of the team. Recent innovations include the addition of phone and video support to clients. Mandatory Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications as a MCH Nurse
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Midwife and Registered Nurse Division 1
  • Current Working with Children's Check
  • Current driver's license and have access to own vehicle

You will also meet the below criteria.

  • Demonstrated leadership and operational management skills, including the ability to motivate, support and manage a group of professionals working in autonomous situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to co-ordinate, administer and manage a community health appointment environment including rostering, setting priorities and meeting tight time frames.
  • Sound knowledge of MCH practice including an up to date theoretical and practical knowledge of family and child health and development and the legislation and policy that applies to MCH practice including Child Safe Standards.
  • Ability to role model the values of the organisation and be a change agent where required.
  • Ability to work in partnership with others to achieve outcomes and shared goals, and ensure the voices of key stakeholders are included.
