About your environment

Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. Sitting within the Partnerships & Philanthropy Unit in the Fundraising & Communications division, the Gifts in Wills team is responsible for developing and implementing long-term relationships with high value confirmed and prospective Gifts in Wills supporters to deliver significant and sustainable income to support the work of Cancer Council Victoria.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a fundraising volunteer to join the Gifts in Wills fundraising team. Reporting to the Gifts in Wills Lead, your role is to:

  • Assist with supporter engagement activities including contacting donors by phone, email or post in a friendly and professional manner
  • Help with coordination of postal packs to supporters
  • Undertake data entry and updating information on our CRM database
  • Provide Administrative Support to the team

Training and ongoing support will be provided. We also offer a flexible and friendly work environment, social and wellbeing activities, and a central location close to public transport.

The ideal applicant for this volunteering opportunity can commit to one day a week or fortnight for a minimum of six months. A twelve-month minimum commitment is preferred.

Operating hours are between 9am-5pm. Days and hours of work are negotiable between the successful applicant and their manager.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • The ability to speak confidently to a variety of people on the phone
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
