DIVISION SUMMARY
The Prevention Division aims to prevent cancer for all Victorians. This is done through community interventions, mass media, advocacy, training and providing policy advice based on the best available evidence. This involves action to affect individual behaviours and the broader physical and legislative environment to reduce cancer risk. We prioritise health inequalities, especially in relation to Aboriginal people, and in culturally diverse and socio-economically disadvantaged communities.
UNIT SUMMARY
The Quit program is a joint initiative of Cancer Council Victoria, the Department of Health and VicHealth. Quit’s purpose is to end the devastating impact of tobacco and vapes on Victorian people and communities. The Quit program has been provided with funding from the Commonwealth Government to create a National Quit™ Cessation Platform, a national digital hub to support people who smoke and/or vape to quit.
About your opportunity
We are seeking a Content & Communications Advisor to join the Quit Program in the Prevention Division. Reporting to the Communications & Engagement Manager, your role is to:
- Project manage the development of clear, engaging and accurate communications that position quit.org.au as Australia’s leading national cessation resource.
- Implement the Content Strategy for quit.org.au and identify content optimisation recommendations.
- Support the Engagement Strategy for quit.org.au through CRM activities such as events, email campaigns (eDMs), toolkits, collateral, website content and surveys.
- Manage tools for assessing the effectiveness, impact, and return on investment from communication activities, and regularly report on performance.
All about you
We are looking for someone with:
- Substantial experience in planning and implementing integrated media and communication strategies/campaigns involving digital tools and services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information, simply and clearly to a range of audiences.
- Excellent understanding of website content, development and online marketing as well as active engagement in social media technologies.
- Proficiency in CMS to create, manage and modify website content.
- Experience developing and implementing CRM activities.
