We are seeking a Student Services Officer who will be a key member of the administration team that supports all aspects of the student lifecycle for the Faculty of Psychology, Counselling & Psychotherapy. The position is responsible for student and academic administration and student advice across the student lifecycle whilst ensuring compliance with different regulatory frameworks.

Cairnmillar is now one of the largest trainers of postgraduate psychologists and counsellors in Australia. We offer an excellent range of clinic services, postgraduate programs in psychology and counselling, and short courses and professional development for the broader community.

The role:

As a Student Services Office, Academic Administration, you will provide effective, accurate, and timely advice to students and staff. You will use your experience, knowledge, and expertise to support course planning administration and implement business process improvements. You will also update student records and databases and ensure admissions and enrolment decisions comply with established procedures and the relevant Institute policies and guidelines.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Undergraduate qualifications and/or relevant experience working in a university, an RTO or other higher education setting, psychology clinics, and/or the charity and NFP sectors.
  • Demonstrated commitment to high-level customer service and making students, staff and key contacts and their needs a priority.
  • Demonstrated administrative skills and ability to organise and coordinate administrative functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with complex administrative systems and databases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate formal and informal information in various contexts.
  • Knowledge of Institute policies, systems, processes and procedures and how to adapt these at the faculty level.
  • The ability to manage time and resources effectively to achieve planned objectives in a high-volume work environment.
  • Strong computer skills and technical literacy, experience with specialist databases or Student Management Systems, advanced user of MS Office software (including Excel and Word). Working knowledge of software programs (SharePoint, Office365).
