The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for a Funding Partnerships Manager (Life Sciences) to join the Funding Partnerships team at Burnet!

In this role you will support researchers and working groups to identify, secure and manage strategic funding opportunities that align with Burnet's research priorities. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external funding partners, you will play a key role in growing and diversifying Burnet's life sciences funding portfolio across Australia and internationally.

You will also:

• Identify and coordinate strategic funding opportunities from life sciences and health research funders.
• Lead and support the development of competitive funding proposals, including budgets, institutional documentation and submission requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with researchers, working groups, government agencies, industry partners and funding organisations.
• Support contract review and negotiations for successful funding applications.
• Develop proposal resources, templates and training materials to strengthen funding capability across the Institute.

Let's talk about you

The following criteria are essential requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Master's degree desirable).
• Demonstrated experience preparing competitive funding proposals and submission budgets, with a strong understanding of the Australian and international research funding landscape.
• Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with research organisations, funding partners and key stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.

The following are preferable/desirable but not essential:

• Experience working within a medical research institute, university, health, or not-for-profit research environment.
