Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (BLCAC) is the Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP) representing the Bunurong people of the South-Eastern Kulin Nation.

About the Role
BLCAC is seeking a Grants Officer to coordinate and strengthen grant funding across the organisation, supporting sustainable programs and community-led outcomes.
Reporting to the CEO, this role is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, preparing high-quality grant applications, and ensuring all grant-funded activities are effectively monitored, compliant and aligned with organisational priorities and cultural authority.
The role requires managing multiple grants and competing deadlines, while ensuring strong compliance, reporting accuracy and alignment with community expectations and organisational priorities.
You will work closely with internal teams to translate ideas, programs and community priorities into strong funding proposals, while also supporting reporting, evaluation and long-term funding pipelines.
This role is well suited to someone who is organised, detail-focused and collaborative, with strong writing skills and a practical approach to managing competing priorities.
This is a hands-on role that combines grant writing, coordination, reporting and stakeholder engagement to support sustainable resourcing and community outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop grant opportunities aligned with organisational priorities, cultural authority and community needs.
- Prepare high-quality grant applications, expressions of interest and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate internal input, budgets and supporting information to strengthen submissions.
- Manage submission timelines, templates and supporting materials to ensure consistent and efficient applications.
- Monitor active grants including milestones, deliverables, budgets and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate accurate and timely reporting, acquittals and compliance with funding agreements.
- Monitor and manage risks associated with grant-funded activities and maintain clear audit trails.
- Build and maintain an evidence base of project outcomes and support evaluation, reporting and continuous improvement.
- Provide internal updates on funding performance, status and upcoming requirements.
Work collaboratively across teams to align grant-funded activities with organisational priorities and community-led outcomes.
- Support the development of new, community-led projects and translate ideas into fundable opportunities.
- Maintain grant registers, tracking systems, audit trails and documentation to ensure compliance, reporting accuracy and visibility of all funding activities.
- Identify and escalate compliance risks, funding issues or significant variations as required.
- Keep internal teams informed of funding opportunities, deadlines and reporting requirements.
What You Bring
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in grant writing, funding applications, reporting and acquittals.
- Minimum of 3 - 4 years of professional experience in grant writing and funding applications.
- Strong written communication skills, including preparing funding applications and reports.
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities or community-controlled organisations (highly regarded).
- Relevant qualification in grants management, business, finance, project management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrated computer proficiency (Microsoft Office).
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
