The Bower is an environmental charity that seeks to reduce landfill and carbon emissions by collecting and distributing household goods that are no longer wanted by residents. The Bower also has a strong community wellbeing focus and is able to sell collected items through our retail outlets as well as redistribute goods to vulnerable and disadvantaged people who are being rehoused after homelessness. We work with multiple agencies and local governments to provide home furniture and white goods free for these programs. The Bower also undertakes the delivery of courses to support the development of knowledge and skills across communities to upskill communities in repairing, recycling and upcycling furniture and further contributing to the reduction of items into landfill.
This position works across a wide spectrum and is a pivotal role in our Senior Management Team. We are seeking a versatile person who can think quickly and work independently. You must be an organised person with solid problem solving skills, and either have a degree or be pursuing a degree in Business, Social Services or Sustainability.
You will have prior experience in a similar management role of not less than two years. e.g. people management, programs or retail, goods distribution.
