Borneo Orangutan Survival Australia is dedicated to the conservation of orangutans and sun bears in Borneo. We are part of a global partner network who support Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation who operate the Samboja Lestari Lodge orangutan and sun bear sanctuary, providing a safe haven for these endangered species.

We are seeking a passionate individual to lead our orangutan enrichment volunteer tours. As the Orangutan Enrichment Volunteer Coordinator, you will manage our seasonal volunteer tour program, ensuring a rewarding experience for participants while contributing to the welfare of orangutans and sun bears. Responsibilities include coordinating volunteer activities, managing tour logistics, and liaising with the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation team.

Candidates Australia-wide are invited to apply. Please note the role is based on site from October 2024 to March 2025 at the BOS Foundation orangutan and sun bear sanctuary situated at Samboja Lestari, Borneo.

Requirements:

  • Passion for wildlife conservation
  • Experience in zoo animal husbandry or related field
  • Ability to manage volunteers or tour groups
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Willingness to learn the Bahasa language
  • Availability from October 2024 to March 2025
  • Must have an ABN
