About us

Launch Housing is an independent Melbourne-based community organisation passionately committed to ending homelessness. From providing high-quality housing to an innovative range of support, education, and employment services, we bring solutions to homelessness under one roof for thousands at risk of or experiencing the crisis and trauma of homelessness. With over 400 staff working across 14 locations in metropolitan Melbourne, we combine direct action with advocacy, research, and innovation to drive widespread change.

The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a positive and energetic Youth Development Worker to drive our advantaged thinking practice approach at our Education First Youth Foyer in Glen Waverley.

The Victorian Education First Youth Foyers provide integrated learning and student accommodation in mainstream educational settings for young people aged 16-24 years, who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Using an advantaged thinking approach, they are designed for young people who have the ambition and motivation to engage in education and training but have been unable to do so due to a range of structural, institutional and personal barriers. Youth Development Workers run groups for students, respond to needs as they arise, and manage operational requirements of the site.

About you

You will have experience in working in youth programs and understanding of the challenges that face young people of this background. You will have an unwavering belief in young people, be an outstanding role model to fellow staff as well as the students living at the Education First Youth Foyer, and recognise that education is essential to breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that uses innovative education and housing practices, this exciting and challenging position offers applicants the opportunity to build and empower the lives of youth experiencing homelessness.

If you would like additional information regarding this role, please contact Alexandra Lebret on 03 9564 6483.

Please note there is no closing date for this role and shortlisting will occur on a rolling basis, so please don't delay in submitting your application.
