Case Manager - Homelessness to a Home

Launch Housing

Once in a generation project to end homelessness across Melbourne.

We are Launch Housing. We have an ambitious agenda to achieve our vision of ending homelessness, providing a strong focused voice on homelessness driven by the values of Empowerment, Fresh Thinking, Agility, Leadership and Courage.

We are an independent provider of choice for clients and the ‘go to' organisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community.

Clients are at the centre of everything we do and are actively and meaningfully involved in the design, delivery and evaluation of services as well as our policy development, public advocacy and fundraising.

We are proud to be spearheading a once in a generation project to end homelessness across Melbourne and this has created opportunities for Case Managers to join our team.

The Homelessness to a Home (H2H) partnership is a truly unique opportunity to be involved to make a significant, lasting impact and help mould this progressive concept. Primarily, you will work with people experiencing homelessness who are currently accommodated in hotel and motel accommodation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Clients will be people with complex histories of trauma and homelessness and with varied support needs.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with partner agencies specialising in health, mental health and AOD, you will support clients who will transition from hotels to alternative accommodation including head leased properties in the private rental market. The support provision will deliver integrated and flexible housing and wellbeing focused case management support, to address immediate crisis support needs, through longer-term support to establish safe and affordable long-term housing.

About you:

You are kind. Passionate. Empathetic. Open-minded. But you're also pragmatic: you can see that crucial bigger picture. You're meticulously organised and your high-level communication skills see you negotiating difficult and confronting situations with poise, clarity, and respect. And with at least 2 years of experience in the mental health, homelessness or alcohol drug dependency sector, you understand the implications of the complex mental health issues on loved ones, friends, and family as well as the individual. You're here to help.

You're also organised, meticulous with detail and value friendship, teamwork and hard work.

We have multiple positions available. All roles are full time, working 38 hours a week Monday to Friday on an 18-month contract. The salary is $73,083 per annum + super + salary packaging + 5 additional days of wellbeing.

Please note there is no closing date for this role and shortlisting will occur on a rolling basis, so please don't delay in submitting your application.

All applicants must have the right to work in Australia and will be required to complete a Working with Children Check and Police check.
