We are seeking casual support workers for 1:1 shifts with participants in Malvern, Frankston and Blackburn. See below for a brief overview of each person and available shifts.

Frankston – This ideal person for this role will have a calm approach, strong observational skills and the ability to engage and motivate the person we support. There is regular engagement with stakeholders including allied health and clinical supports. 

Available shifts: Monday 10.30am – 2.30pm and Tuesday 10.45am – 1.45pm

What the role involves

• Working in 1:1 capacity, assisting with daily living tasks and community participation
• Regular contact with stakeholders including Omega team members, SIL staff (accommodation), allied health
• Some use of personal vehicle but most community access will be via public transport
• Attending scheduled reflective practice meetings and training

Blackburn - The person we support is very social and enjoys bike riding, telling jokes, taking public transport to explore new places in the community, listening to music and DJ-ing. The ideal worker would be creative, adaptable and someone who has good problem solving skills.

Available shift: Wednesday 12.15pm – 5.15pm

What the role involves

• Working with the person to plan and engage in meaningful activities, improve social skills and work toward greater independence with daily living tasks
• Support to manage appointments and maintain important daily routines
• Regular contact with stakeholders including Omega team members, SIL staff (accommodation), allied health
• Some use of personal vehicle but most community access will be via public transport 

Malvern  - This role is ideal for a person who is calm and friendly and brings some life experience. The person we support would appreciate a support worker who will go at their pace and be comfortable taking time to build positive rapport. 

Available shifts: Wednesday 10.00am – 2.00pm and Friday 12.00pm – 4.00pm

What the role involves

• Assisting the person to access the community for various activities including social events, shopping or attending appointments

• Transport to health appointments is required approximately every 4 weeks. A Victorian licence and the ability to provide transport in your own vehicle is essential
• Support may include light household tasks such as hanging out or folding laundry
• There is potential for the support hours to increase

What we need from you

Essential

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Level 2 First Aid and CPR
• Basic computer skills
• Unrestricted Victorian licence
• Access to a reliable, insured vehicle
• Internet enabled smart phone
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation module
• A completed application form, current resume and brief introduction letter

Desirable

• Prior experience of disability or mental health
• Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health or similar
