Omega is a NDIS registered provider of individualised, community-based support services across metropolitan Melbourne. We are looking for a support worker to join our team on an ongoing basis, for weekly shifts in the Knox area.

About the role

The available shift is every Thursday 9.00am – 3.00pm

• Working in a 1:1 capacity, supporting a person with physical disability to participate in hydrotherapy sessions at a local pool. The support worker is required to be in the pool, guiding the person through a structured exercise program.

• The role includes manual handling
• Providing the person with assistance to get changed after accessing the pool is also a role requirement
• The person we support would like a worker who has a calm, friendly approach, ideally someone who enjoys having a chat.

What we need from you

Essential

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Level 2 First Aid and CPR
• Basic computer skills
• Unrestricted Victorian licence
• Access to a reliable, insured vehicle
• Internet enabled smart phone
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation module
• A completed application form, current resume and brief introduction letter

Desirable

• Prior experience of disability or mental health
• Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health or similar
• Prior manual handling experience/ training
