About the role:

Bethany is excited to advertise for the role of Practice Leader Kinship Care, Family Services and NEWPIN. This position is full time and will be reporting to the Executive Manager Practice Development and Family Connections and will be based across both the Hamlyn Heights and Geelong West Bethany Offices. The core purpose of this role is to provide clinical guidance and assistance to problem solve complex case presentations. In addition, this role will promote evidence informed interventions and build the capabilities of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with managers, team leaders and practitioners to identify and resolve clinical and practice issues as they arise
  • Providing specialist and advanced practice leadership and support to practitioners
  • Building capability of practitioners to deliver integrated functions and services responding to child and family development, and functioning in line relevant legislative frameworks (including the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005).
  • Providing sound judgement and authoritative advice on risks, priorities, accountability, and practice matters to the NEWPIN, Family Services and Kinship Care Teams.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership and integrated practice approach.

About you:

  • A tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, social science, human services or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience in family services/kinship/family violence and complex case management environment
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, advance written and oral communication.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead, develop and manage the clinical component of family and kinship services through ongoing provision of training, clinical supervision, coaching and support of staff
