Tuning In To Kids and Teens is a suite of parenting programs that focus on the emotional connection between parents and carers and their children, from pre-schoolers to teenagers. The Tuning In To Kids and Teens program has been operating at Berry Street for the past 3 years and following success with program establishment we now have the opportunity to expand the facilitator team. Successful applicants will be provided with Tuning In To Kids/Teens Facilitator training.
The evidence-based programs, developed by Mindful-Centre for Training and Research in Developmental Health, have proven success in improving: parenting; parent-child relationships and; children’s emotional competence and behaviour. It does this by providing parents and carers with skills in emotion coaching, which is about recognising, understanding and managing their own and their children’s emotions. When children develop these emotional skills, they are better able to negotiate the ups and downs of life.
The primary objectives of the role are to:
You will have a minimum tertiary level qualification in Social Work, Psychology, infant mental health or a related Bachelors qualification relevant to child and family welfare.
You will have experience in working with family services, child protection, mental health or allied health field. Work with family support agencies and allied health services in the region will be extremely desirable.
