About the Program

Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is an intensive, evidence-based family and community-based intervention focused on supporting young people aged 10-17 years who are presenting with severe challenging behaviours, including offending.

The team consists of one MST Clinical Supervisor and four Practitioners. 

The Opportunity

The MST Practitioner will function as part of an MST team and will participate in weekly team supervision and consultation. Daily duties include assessment, treatment, and collaboration with families, youth, and community agency staff. 

About You

You will be an experienced practitioner with mental health clinical training to be extensively involved in implementing the MST program during a three year pilot project, with the goal of the program's success resulting in it being made ongoing.

You will have experience working with marginalised, minority and difficult to engage young people and/or their families in their homes and communities and must be available to provide periodic on-call 24-hour coverage, across a 7 day week roster. 

You will hold a minimum 4 year degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related subject area with significant experience in therapeutic settings, with Specific experience in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy and behaviourally-based treatments preferred.
