Speech Pathologist - Bendigo

The Bendigo Rainbow Hub

Finding your voice – sometimes quite literally – is one of the most affirming things a person can do. At The Bendigo Rainbow Hub, we are looking for a speech pathologist who understands that, and who wants to help our community do exactly that.

We are an affirming health and wellbeing service in Bendigo, central Victoria. We work with people of all ages and identities, and everything we do is built on inclusive, gender-affirming, neuro-affirming, and LGBTIQA+ affirming care. We are growing our allied health offering, and gender-affirming voice and communication is a service our community has told us they want and need.

This is where you come in.

The role

You would be working with clients on gender-affirming voice and communication – pitch, resonance, intonation, articulation, and the everyday communication goals that help a person feel at home in how they sound. Some of this work happens in the room with us in Bendigo, and some of it happens over telehealth, so your week can flex around what suits you and your clients.

This is a contractor or sessional arrangement, so you have real say over your hours and caseload. Whether you are looking to build a dedicated voice caseload or to add affirming, meaningful work alongside an existing practice, we would love to hear from you.

What your days might look like

  • Assessment and individualised therapy for gender-affirming voice and communication, across a range of ages and goals.
  • A mix of in-person sessions in Bendigo and telehealth, planned around you and your clients.
  • Working alongside a warm, multidisciplinary team who share your affirming values.
  • Clear, supported clinical documentation – we use Heidi Health for AI-assisted notes and BP Premier for clinical records, with Microsoft 365 and Zoom for everything in between.
  • Straightforward billing support through our Medicare and NDIS processes, so you can focus on your clients rather than the paperwork.

Who we are hoping to meet

You are a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist and a member of Speech Pathology Australia. You bring genuine warmth, curiosity, and an affirming approach to your work. Experience in gender-affirming voice is wonderful, but if you have strong voice or transgender health experience and are eager to develop in this area, please do still reach out – we are happy to talk about what support might look like.

Above all, you understand that affirming care is not a single technique. It is a way of being with people, and it shows up in every small choice you make in the room.

What we offer

  • The chance to build something meaningful with a values-led service.
  • Genuine flexibility over your hours, location, and caseload.
  • A supportive, affirming team and modern clinical tools that make the work easier.
  • Contract arrangements to be negotiated.
  • An attractive technology package included with contract.
