The Organisation

CMHA is a coalition of eight peak community mental health organisations from each State and Territory, established to provide leadership and direction to promote the importance and benefits of community mental health and recovery services across Australia.

The primary goals of CMHA are to build a viable and sustainable community managed mental health sector and to promote the value and outcomes delivered by community managed mental health services based on a philosophy of recovery and social inclusion.

The ACDC Project is a community initiative, with CMHA building innovative ways to increase the independence, social and community participation of people who live with a psychosocial disability who are not accessing services. This is a pilot project that will be trialled in all Australian states and territories, and will include partnerships, training and safe door to door services and resources.

About the role

A pivotal role, the Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement Manager will develop and lead key engagement activities, building relationships and awareness to promote the program with a range of senior and community stakeholders across 10 established sites covering QLD, SA, NT and NSW.

This is a full time role contracted until November 2022. Based in modern shared offices in Martin Place with flexibility to work from home. Expectation for some state and interstate travel is required

Working collaboratively with a partnering Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Senior Manager and the broader project team you will:

  • Develop a project Engagement and Communication Plan
  • Establish and maintain key relationships with a broad range of stakeholders at the national, state and local community level,
  • Actively promote the ACDC project while undertaking Site Validation, Pre-engagement and Local Marketing processes in each ACDC site
  • Liaise with stakeholders to establish effective Local Reference Groups (LRGs) in each ACDC local area through partnering with an existing local group or establishing new groups.
  • Provide guidance and assist the groups for the length of the project. Empowering and encouraging those community working groups to have input into the co-design of the Project both nationally and locally

About you …

To have success in this role you will be a confident communicator with an ability to building meaningful partnerships with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders
You will also have:

  • Established experience within the mental health sector, plus knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues in mental health services and the mental health community sector in Australia
  • Held leadership roles in the health or community sectors.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including across diverse communities, with the ability to produce effective and accurate written documentation, and implement effective remote conferencing.
  • Experience and skills in community development and building meaningful partnerships with a wide range of organisations and stakeholders;
  • Ability to engage, empower and coordinate ongoing relationships using outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated experience

  • Relevant project management experience including developing policy and strategic documentation and quality improvement activities
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise, consult and co-design communication materials relevant to health/ mental health

Successful candidates must be willing to undergo a police check.
