The opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to step into a role based within Taronga Zoo, where conservation, education and community come to life every day. For someone passionate about protecting wildlife, empowering young people, and building amore sustainable future, this role offers the chance to shape fundraising and impact.

Working closely with the CEO, you will lead fundraising, philanthropy, and communications to support long term organisational sustainability. This role suits someone who can think strategically while bringing energy, initiative, and a willingness to be hands on to drive future growth.

This is a part time hybrid role, with one day a week in the office.

In this role, you will

• Develop and deliver a clear fundraising plan to grow income across Individual Giving, Major Donors, and Gifts in Wills
• Build and manage relationships with donors, supporting long term engagement and ongoing support
• Identify and grow new income streams, including corporate partnerships and trusts and foundations
  
• Support the CEO with donor engagement, including research, proposals and presentations
• Plan and deliver campaigns across digital, email and events to engage supporters
• Develop and deliver communications and marketing activity to raise brand awareness and support fundraising outcomes

About you

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in fundraising / philanthropy
• Experience / understanding of donor stewardship and portfolio management
• Strong communication skills with the ability to develop clear and compelling marketing content
• Comfortable working in a small team and taking ownership of your work
• A positive attitude with energy and a willingness to be hands on
• An interest in conservation, education, sustainability or social impact
