The Organisation

The Heart Research Institute is an internationally recognised medical research institute that performs ground-breaking cardiovascular research.

The original vision for the creation of the Heart Research Institute was to create NSW's first medical research institute dedicated to the detection, prevention and treatment of heart disease.

Today HRI has more than 250 personnel, working in 13 scientific groups and supported by an operations team, with over 60 collaborations across 25 countries.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Monitoring & processing of all incoming calls including recording all call outcomes and updating donor details in the database
  • Donation Processing and accurate data entry – assist with the processing of donations
  • Work with the Head of Donor Services to provide information for the analytical & financial reporting of Fundraising, as appropriate
  • General fundraising – assisting with coordination & delivering of fundraising activities & events
  • Organising packs to be sent to prospective bequests
  • Assist in the delivery of the Supporter Services key strategic projects
  • Assist with supporter communications through email, mail and telephone and provide exemplary customer service

To be successful in this role it is important that you have great communication and customer service skills and enjoy helping people with an empathetic, warm and friendly approach.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience working in NFP organisations
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience within a call centre environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Database and data entry experience
  • Good attention to detail
  • Experience using a CRM (salesforce or similar)
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A team player and a cultural asset to the HRI
