ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Direct Marketing Manager is the business unit manager responsible for the direct marketing and regular giving income stream.
This role is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy that will grow income for NeuRA’s direct marketing & regular giving channels which include direct mail, digital and telemarketing. You will also be supervising and mentoring a team of two to ensure day-to-day operations are carried out efficiently.

As the Direct Marketing Manager, you will also take responsibility in managing the CRM (Raisers Edge). This role will suit a candidate who is looking to take their next step in their career by autonomously leading a program as well as mentoring staff.

Previous team management experience is not essential and so if you feel ready to take on this challenge and have previous direct marketing this could be the perfect role for you!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop & Manage DM campaigns and the Regular Giving (RG) Program:

  • Define objectives and creative strategy of entire DM program
  • Planning and scheduling, budgeting, resourcing, and evaluating the Foundation’s direct mail, third party events, digital and telephone campaigns
  • Develop and manage entire lifecycle of DM campaigns including creative concepts, acquisition packs, budgeting, resourcing, scheduling, supplier management and campaign evaluation
  • Develop and Manage the Regular Giving Program (both traditional and digital) including a strategy for growth, development of product terms, acquiring new regular givers and donor stewardship activities

Donor Acquisition – Mail:

  • Develop a mail-based donor acquisition strategy within budget
  • Manage list sourcing for acquisition & reactivation of lapsed donor activities
  • Coordinate donor journey’s for newly acquired donors

Coordinate Digital Donor Acquisition Campaigns:

  • Develop and manage full life cycle of digital acquisition campaigns including implementation and development of digital advertising plan
  • Manage suppliers to ensure effective collaboration
  • Oversee Google Analytics program to optimise NeuRA’s digital fundraising campaigns

Raisers Edge Database Management:

  • Monitor receipting process to ensure receipting takes place within agreed business timelines
  • Effectively import and export a variety of datasets and support wider Foundation team to achieve their goals
  • Manage and update all donor journeys - ensure new donors are placed on the relevant journey and coordinate reactivation of lapsed donor activities
  • Training and development of Database Specialist to support database requests and appeal segmentation
  • Manage and maintain automation applications and API connections between email marketing tools and the CRM

Business Unit Management:

  • Team supervision – Manage and monitor performance, coaching, troubleshooting, ensure annual performance reviews are completed.
  • Management of the annual income and expenditure budget for the DM income stream
  • Website updates and management of donation, email marketing and payment platforms

TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or a related area
  • Proven experience in successfully planning and executing customer/donor growth strategies and direct marketing programs including direct mail, email and phone campaigns
  • Extensive experience in working with a CRM (Raisor Edge is preferred)
  • Knowledge in data segmentation, analysis of giving/purchasing histories to inform strategy, and post-campaign evaluation and lifetime ROI analysis
  • Experience in the creation of email marketing journeys including automation and integrations
  • Previous experience supervising a team, volunteers, or interns is preferred
  • Strong negotiating and stakeholder skills to be able to manage good relationships with external service providers
  • High level attention to detail and logical skills
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the not-for-profit sector as a staff member, supplier, or volunteer
