They do this by breaking down the barriers of judgement and providing a safe place where people from all walks of life are welcome.

This exciting role is an integral part of the Fundraising team. The Community Fundraising Manager is responsible for the management and growth of revenue and engagement of all community fundraising activities to support the important work of Wayside Chapel.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor and deliver community fundraising strategies and operational plans
  • Manage, deliver and execute flagship Wayside Chapel events including the Long Walk Home
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, both within existing and new campaigns
  • Increase community fundraising events and participant portfolio
  • Develop and implement stewardship framework of all community fundraisers
  • Liaise with Marketing and Communications to develop all collateral
  • Manage agency and supplier relationships
  • General administration and assistance to the whole team as required

Skills and Attributes

  • Previous experience leading a significant community fundraising program
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising campaign delivery including community fundraising, major events and donor journeys
  • Exceptional analytical skills with proven ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Previous budget management skills
  • Demonstrated results in donor/customer acquisition and retention
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including public speaking
  • Strong understanding of donor/customer relationship management databases
  • Ability to work flexible hours inclusive of weekends as required
