Play a key role in connecting a passionate member network and supporting research that improves outcomes for people with GI cancer.
GI Cancer Trials is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving outcomes for people with gastrointestinal cancer through collaborative, investigator-initiated clinical trials and translational research.
Established in 1991, the organisation is a recognised leader in high-quality clinical research, working with strategic partners across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia and North America.
An estimated 37,567 people are diagnosed each year with GI cancers, and 50 Australians are losing their lives to these diseases every day. With a vision of a better future for people with GI cancer, GI Cancer Trials has led more than 90 research studies involving over 10,000 participants, contributing to meaningful changes in clinical practice, expanded treatment options and improved quality of life for people affected by GI cancer.
As Communications and Member Engagement Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in strengthening engagement across this volunteer network of researchers and clinical professionals, while supporting communications initiatives that grow the GI Cancer Trials brand and connect with its wider community. Reporting to the Head of Communications, and working closely with Communications Leads, Fundraising, Operations and Research teams, this varied role will combine relationship management, communications, content, events support and data insights.
You’re a natural relationship-builder with strong communications instincts, excellent attention to detail and a genuine interest in creating meaningful engagement. Warm, proactive and collaborative, you enjoy connecting with people, managing competing priorities and bringing structure, creativity and care to your work.
You may come from a communications, member engagement, community engagement, marketing or not-for-profit background, and you’re confident creating content, coordinating activity and using data to improve outcomes. Most importantly, you’re motivated by purpose and excited by the opportunity to support clinical research that can make a real difference for people affected by GI cancer.
Experience with CRM and email marketing systems, such as Raiser’s Edge and Campaign Monitor, would be highly regarded, as would previous experience in a membership-based organisation or knowledge of the health, oncology or clinical trials sector.
Bring your communications and engagement skills to a purpose-led role where your work will help connect a national research community and contribute to better outcomes for people with GI cancer.
Apply now by submitting your CV and a short cover letter outlining why you are the right person for this role.
