Clinical Coordinator - Registered Nurse

As the Clinical Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, guidance, supervision and education to a team of Registered Nurses to promote excellence in care across a residential service based in North West Sydney.

Working closely and assisting the Care Manager to plan, coordinate and evaluate the clinical care in the Centre to assist the Centre to maintain full accreditation and achieve best practices. A busy and rewarding role where you will work to:

  • Provide clinical leadership in the coordination of nursing and care services.
  • Maintain accountability and responsibility for the clinical management of health and care outcomes of the residents in the Centre.
  • Ensure that skills and knowledge appropriate to delegate the task/authority have been considered when delegating health and care responsibilities to other professionals.
  • Exercise critical thinking within an evidenced-based framework to ensure the delivery of high quality health and care services that promote optimal health outcomes for the residents.
  • Coordinate delivery of safe, effective and individualised care to residents and their families (including managing staff and physical resources) and assist residents to lead an active and meaningful life as independently as possible in keeping with the organisation‟s Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Promote and support a person-centred culture values, respect and treat all people as unique individuals with needs, preferences and past history.
  • Step into the Care Manager role in their absence.

To have success in the role you will be a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse who is able to lead a team while remaining eager to 'step in' and work with the nursing team and residents when required.

You will also have:

  • Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Register Nurse
  • Clinical leadership experience - mentoring and coaching others
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the care needs of the older person with acute and complex needs
  • Understanding of and commitment to continuous quality improvement with demonstrated experience with Aged Care Accreditation and relevant Aged Care Legislation
  • A current Influenza vaccination and evidence of the COVID-19 vaccination are a requirement of employment in this role
