About the opportunity

We’re recruiting a Work Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist to work across two separate part-time roles with Black Dog Institute (BDI) and Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA). This is a unique opportunity to hold two independent WHS roles concurrently. The roles are aligned in scope and level, but operate independently within each organisation. The position is structured as 0.4 FTE with Black Dog Institute and 0.4 FTE with Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA).

About the role

Across both positions, you’ll be responsible for delivering end-to-end WHS support, including providing practical WHS advice to leaders and employees, supporting WHS systems, policies and compliance requirements, leading and/or supporting incident investigations and risk management activities, coordinating audits, inspections and hazard identification, supporting WHS training and capability uplift, and contributing to a positive and proactive safety culture.

About the split

  • This is not a shared or blended role, but two distinct part-time positions held by the same person.
  • You will have two separate employment contracts, work with different stakeholders and teams in each organisation, and manage your time across both roles in line with the agreed 0.4 / 0.4 split (0.4 Black Dog Institute and 0.4 NeuRA)
  • Both organisations are co-located in Randwick, making this a practical and flexible setup.

About you

  • You’re a capable and organised WHS professional who is comfortable managing multiple priorities and stakeholders.
  • You’ll bring experience in a WHS Advisor or Specialist role, strong knowledge of WHS legislation and its practical application, experience in incident investigation, risk management and audits, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work independently across two environments.
  • Experience in research, health, education or not-for-profit environments is beneficial.

Things to know

This role involves two separate employment contracts and onboarding processes. Each organisation operates its own WHS systems and governance. You’ll need to be comfortable working across two environments and managing competing priorities.
