About the Role:

The Brand and Marketing Specialist is a new role reporting to the Brand and Communications Manager. This role is responsible for operational marketing tasks and execution to help achieve our strategic goals: building our brand equity and reputation as well as creating compelling messaging and campaigns that connect more people than ever with evidence-based mental health care, resources, education and research.

The role is focused on engaging a range of audiences including consumers, health professionals, workplaces and stakeholders. The brand and marketing team champions our brand at BDI and in addition to central campaigns such as Mental Health Month, works collaboratively within the marketing and communications team to provide marketing and brand services and advice to the research, product, education and fundraising teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion the Black Dog Institute brand internally and work collaboratively to provide brand advice across the organisation and maintain brand integrity across all assets
  • Assist in developing product and services messaging frameworks
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of an asset library that contains all approved brand assets including, photography, icons, infographics, copy, illustrations – includes creation of assets ongoing and managing the sharing of this content
  • Be the key contact for internal and external stakeholders and vendors across agreed projects
  • Milestone reporting across all activity against agreed KPIs
  • Relevant administration related to the role such as meeting minutes, budget tracking, attending marketing & communications team meetings

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or related field
  • 3-5 years work experience in a brand and marketing/and or communications role with a proven track record of marketing campaign delivery including work examples of collateral and content
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the audience and create customer-centric communications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high-level attention to detail including in grammar and proof reading
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a proven track record in building and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with a solutionfocused approach to work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Demonstrated experience with CMS, CRM and email marketing platforms
  • Demonstrated confidence with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage priorities and work effectively in fast-paced environments
  • A proven passion in Brand and Marketing and drive to keep up to date with industry best practice in brand and marketing.
  • A knowledge of EEO principles and OH&S responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant OH&S training.

Desirable Criteria

  • Empathy or alignment with mental health and wellbeing
  • Experience in the health or research sector
