The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.  

This is a full time, fixed term (12 months, with possible extension) role. Applications welcomed from all jurisdiction.

The primary focus of this role will be to ensure Ahpra and National Boards are implementing their commitments arising from the Independent review of health practitioner regulatory settings (the review). This entails cording with stakeholders, overseeing project execution and ensuring alignment with agreed-upon plans to drive meaningful regulatory reforms in healthcare.  

In this role you will: 

  • Manage complex stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment with agreed outcomes
  • Lead project lifecycles, considering business needs and stakeholder engagement.
  • Establish project plans, monitor progress and adhere to governance frameworks.
  • Develop documentation, facilitate meetings and negotiate outcomes with government officials and stakeholders.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of expertise.
  • Project qualifications and experience  
  • Considerable experience in the development of health profession policy advice, ideally relating to health practitioner regulation. 
  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills. 
  • Sophisticated written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Advanced stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound understanding of project management methodology.
