The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (National Scheme) for health professionals. We work to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
The Qualifications Assessment Policy Officer contributes to the development, implementation and continuous improvement of qualifications assessment policy within Ahpra’s Accreditation Unit. The role supports consistent, evidence-based regulatory decision-making under the National Scheme, with a focus on protecting the public.
This is a 5 month fixed term opportunity for the right person to join our team in Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne or Perth, covering parental leave until 30 November 2026.
Working as part of a national team, you will undertake research and provide specialist policy advice to support the development and review of qualifications assessment policy. You will contribute to identifying best practice approaches and translating these into practical guidance that supports consistent regulatory outcomes.
You will also work closely with internal stakeholders to provide timely and accurate advice on qualifications, including those held by internationally qualified practitioners, and develop resources and web content to support implementation and decision-making.
