About your new role:

Working under the direction of the Registered Nurse and closely with residents, their families and the multidisciplinary team, this position contributes to the provision of person-centred, individual support to residents within the Aged Care Facility. This role also provides clinical service delivery and works closely with the Registered Nurse to implement evidence based best practice and quality initiatives across the facility.

Our 99-bed William Carey Court facility, located centrally in Busselton, allows you to live and work locally while enjoying the relaxed lifestyle in the beautiful South-West Region. Full time, part time and casual arrangements will all be considered for this vacancy.

Duties:

  • Provides a range of clinical interventions, care and support in consultation with the Registered Nurse
  • Confirm residents’ care plans meet the changing needs of residents when providing person-centred care
  • Recognises resident preferences, including personally significant cultural and spiritual practices, and incorporates these into everyday activities
  • Monitors for and proactively manages deterioration of resident health and function
  • Advocates for residents, as required, to ensure all physical and emotional needs are met
  • Provides guidance and direction to empower Care Partners in their everyday work, including provision of constructive feedback  

Skills and Experience:

  • Alignment to our Values of Togetherness, Respect, Accountability, Caring and Respect.
  • Qualified as an Enrolled Nurse with current registration with AHPRA.
  • Good clinical and care skills, commensurate with being an Enrolled Nurse.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate positively with the aged care population with empathy, understanding and respect.
  • The ability to work flexibly and contribute positively to a team environment.
  • The ability to promote the physical and emotional wellbeing of people through a partnership approach to everyday needs including activities of daily living.
  • Working knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards and legislation (desirable)
  • Working knowledge of ACFI (desirable)
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check
  • Willingness to obtain or provide proof of up-to-date Influenza & Covid-19 Vaccinations
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical
  • Willingness to obtain National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check
