We're looking for an experienced and values-driven leader to join our Youth and Community Connections team. This role is part of Banyule’s Leadership Network – you’ll have opportunities to grow your skills and experience of leadership in a Local Government context and develop your skills as an organisational leader beyond your role-based expertise.  

What you’ll do in this role:

Reporting to the Youth and Community Connections Coordinator, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a broad community wellbeing portfolio, including:

• Community Grants
• Volunteering and volunteer governance
• Service Navigation
• Homelessness initiatives and partnerships
• Community development and social inclusion projects
• Strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement

You'll lead staff, drive continuous improvement, strengthen governance and help ensure Banyule continues to deliver high-quality, responsive services that support an inclusive, healthy and connected community.

Flexibility in working hours to support occasional delivery of community activities outside of normal business hours (evenings, weekends) will be required.  

What you'll bring/what we are looking for:

We're looking for someone who combines strong leadership skills with a genuine commitment to community wellbeing. You will bring:

• Experience leading and supporting teams to achieve positive outcomes
• A collaborative and people-focused leadership style
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience working in community development, human services, social policy, local government or a related field
• The ability to manage competing priorities and navigate complexity with confidence
• A commitment to good governance, continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery
• Excellent communication, project management and problem-solving skills

Pre-employment requirements

• Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
• Working with Children check
• Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check

• Salary from $113,252.44 to $126,351.47 (dependent on experience) per annum plus super
