Occupational Therapists funded under the Home and Community Care Program for Younger People (HACCPYP) program provide services to clients under the age of 65 (under 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people), some of whom have a functional disability that risks a loss of independence.
The role also has a particular focus on advocacy and support for community members who are requiring assistance to access the NDIS. This will involve completing clinical assessments and functional capacity reports as indicated in order for clients to access the NDIS.
This position interacts closely with the multi-disciplinary team and other service providers, both internally and externally, in particular with local area coordinators (Brotherhood of St Laurence in the Northwestern metropolitan region).
