About the assignment

We’re looking for a Hospital Administration Mentor who can live and volunteer in the Solomons for 12 months.

  • This assignment seeks to Support the capacity development of NRH’s patient care management, health information systems, finance and management teams.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Master’s degree in Health Administration, Health Economics, Public Health, or Business Administration (with a healthcare focus) plus a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • You will be working alongside the teams to improve the overall administration of the hospital.

About the Partner Organisation 

The National Referral Hospital (NRH), based in Honiara, is the national referral centre, providing specialised care to patients referred from provincial hospitals nationwide. Strengthening hospital management and cost analysis is essential for improving service planning and sustainability.

This assignment will support NRH management in conducting a case-mix study of selected service units to enhance future hospital information management systems, efficient patient care, quality assurance, quantification, resources management, including budgeting and planning. This will enable NRH to make evidence-based decisions for financial sustainability and service prioritisation.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include providing or attaining a First Aid Certificate.
