About the role:

Cairns Wellbeing Centre – Pat Gosper Place is a distinctive accommodation centre providing a welcome home away from home for patients and their carers, who travel from some of the most remote parts of Far North Queensland to receive medical treatment in Cairns.

The position provides support to guests during the hours that the Centre reception is closed through the coordination of reservations, monitoring building services, and supporting the health and safety of guests, and security of the Centre.

Additionally, you will welcome visitors and guests to the Centre providing orientation of the services and facilities available in the centre, and their rights and responsibilities as guests. The role will assist guests with checking in and out after hours, ensuring that payment is received in line with policies and procedures.

You will also be responsible for handling after hours emergencies & issues that arise and escalating as necessary. The role requires you to work outside of business hours including weekends & public holidays.

What you will bring

• Proven ability to communicate with a cross section of the community, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds with sensitivity
• Good records management and general office administration & computer skills
• Demonstrated time management and organisational skills to coordinate administrative functions
• Sound decision making skills under pressure keeping the security & safety of clients at the forefront
• Proven ability to identify and seek support in dealing to escalate complex issues, with an emphasis on the health and wellbeing needs of people
