Australian Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian organisation. Our aim is to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people in Australia and across our region.
Red Cross works alongside the Tasmanian Prison Service to deliver programs at the Risdon Prison site. The Peer Support Program supports people entering prison to adjust to the environment, reduce the feelings of isolation and anxiety, which may lead to poor behavioural outcomes or increased levels of self-harm. The Coordinator works with the Peer Supporters, who are in-prison based mentors, and facilitates the delivery of relevant learning content and supervision for the Peer Supporters to carry out their duties. The program runs in both male and female facilities.
This position is responsible for the coordination, planning and monitoring of in-prison delivery of the program. You will work alongside a range of stakeholders and support the broader justice priorities and work of Red Cross which is a growth area in Tasmania.
Be part of one of the largest humanitarian organisations and know that the work contributes to improving outcomes for vulnerable people. Red Cross offers generous salary packaging benefits and flexible working arrangements.
