Flexible work opportunity for a Registered Nurse, Social Worker or other allied health professional to take on the role of Aged Care Assessor.

The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course.

Located in Alice Springs, the Aged Care Unit is offering flexible work conditions to qualified health professionals willing to take on the role of Aged Care Assessor.

The position is best suited to a professionally qualified Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Social Worker or other relevant health professional. Key duties involve conducting comprehensive and home support assessments for aged clients, ensuring high quality services are delivered and professional clinical skills are maintained. Occasional travel to remote communities in Central Australia and the Barkly is required.

To be successful, you require professional qualifications as an Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Social Worker, Speech Pathologist, or Registered Nurse and post-graduate experience. High-level written and verbal communication skills demonstrated relationship building and influencing skills, and the ability to communicate sensitively and persuasively with Aboriginal clients and community stakeholders is essential.
