Applications are invited from self motivated individuals interested in working with a dynamic and enthusiastic team dedicated to the improvement of workers’ lives. The successful applicant will organise across a variety of industries including, but not limited to, the Legal and NGO sectors.

The successful applicant will be responsible for organising and developing collectivism in the workplace by identifying, leading, motivating and educating workplace representatives, activists and members.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Identifying organising opportunities in existing or new workplaces;
• Planning organising activities in the workplace;
• Supporting members to campaign, negotiate and act collectively in order to resolve workplace issues;
• Increasing union density in the workplace;
• Working with other Branch officials, Delegates and members on organising and Industrial campaigns.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:

• Experience in working for a union or equivalent organising role in another campaigning organisation;
• Commitment to the trade union movement and to community activism;
• Demonstrated knowledge of and / or experience of modern organising methods;
• Able to advise members on Awards, Agreements and industrial legislation in general;
• Good verbal and written communication skills;
• Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence.

An attractive salary package is available depending upon, and commensurate with experience. Experience as an organiser or like role is essential.

A current Victorian Driver’s license is a requirement of this role as is the ability to be eligible for a right of entry permit that requires you to pass the fit and proper person requirements.
