This role goes far beyond traditional SEO where standard tooling is restricted and you need to be comfortable to think outside the box and experiment. You’ll thrive in this role if you are equally comfortable discussing crawl efficiency, structured data and platform rendering with engineers, while also thinking strategically about content strategy, search intent, entity authority, AI-driven search experiences and how organic discovery contributes to long-term business growth.

- Develop organic growth strategies and experiments to increase qualified traffic, conversions and subscriptions.
- Work with Engineering and Product teams on a Ruby on Rails platform to ensure new features, releases and website changes support organic search performance.
- Identify and fix technical SEO issues relating to crawling, indexing, site speed, duplicate content and website architecture.
- Partner with the Content team to build topical authority, optimise content structure, improve internal linking and search discovery of the blog.
- Analyse search performance, diagnose traffic changes, identify opportunities and report on business impact.
Your background:
- 10+ years experience in digital growth, ideally 5+ of those years in a technical SEO role for a high-traffic platform.
- Proven success growing organic traffic and being accountable for channel revenue for either a subscription product, two-way marketplace or other digital-first business.
- Experimentation mindset with a background in designing and running experiments to improve search performance, platform visibility and conversion outcomes.
- Technical SEO expertise on a custom platform where you’ve work closely with engineers, understanding code or ideally contributing directly via pull requests or technical recommendations.
- Strong understanding of emerging AI search, AI Overviews, semantic search and Large Language Model (LLM) Optimisation.
- Experienced strategically communicating and influencing senior stakeholders to drive work prioritisation. You are able to translate technical concepts into business outcomes and take stakeholders across Product, Engineering and Marketing on the journey to get work done.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex problems and appropriately influence SEO work prioritisation.
- Proven experience collaborating within cross-functional teams in an agile environment, in particular with Product, Engineering, Data and Content teams.
- Experience and competency using a variety of SEO and analytics tools to identify issues, uncover opportunities and measure results, especially where common industry tooling might not alway be available.
In an ideal world, you would also have:
- Ruby on Rails experience, bonus if you can code!
- Previous experience engaging with and a willingness to learn about marginalised communities, particularly sex workers, neurodivergent individuals and people with disability.
