Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. We champion the rights of people seeking asylum and mobilise a community of compassion to create lasting social and policy change.

The Client Access and Support Coordinator serves as the initial point of contact for both new and returning clients of the ASRC, ensuring a warm welcome and prompt attention to their inquiries at the Footscray Centre.
This role is crucial in maintaining a positive, culturally safe, professional, and trauma-informed environment. Additionally, the Client Access and Support Coordinator oversees a team consisting of Social Work Student Placements and appropriately qualified volunteers.
Together, they conduct initial assessments of client inquiries and evaluate the ASRC's ability to provide assistance, prioritising clients accordingly.
The successful candidate will be expected to nurture an overall culture of excellence, with a passion for providing support to clients within a fast-paced environment, as well as demonstrated skills in program coordination. You will possess the following skills and attributes:
Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable. Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia as well as previous experience working within a not-for-profit environment, would also be advantageous.
