The International Network on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU) is a global network dedicated to improving the health of people who use drugs, with a specific focus on hepatitis C, infectious diseases and other harms that may relate to drug use.

Our vision is a world where people who use drugs have equitable access to evidence-based services, treatments, and support needed to improve health and live well.

We connect people to promote knowledge sharing, educate our community, and develop evidence-based policy responses to improve the health of people who use drugs, including responding to the structural inequalities that stand in the way of achieving this.

INSHU is looking for an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Program Manager to continue to drive forward INHSU's program of work.

Key activities include management of knowledge dissemination and education programs for healthcare practitioners, researchers, policy makers and advocates; funding and business development to support ongoing and new programs of work; program monitoring and evaluation to aid quality improvement and reporting; and engagement with sector partners and stakeholders.

About you

You will be happy to work autonomously as well as in a small team. You will be incredibly organised and able to juggle multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities. You will be brimming with ideas and excited at the prospect of working for an international organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all program activities, including management of workplans and development, monitoring and regular reporting on program budgets
  • Collaborate effectively with program partners
  • Maintain and continue to develop excellent stakeholder relationships in the delivery of programs, including establishing and maintaining engaged multidisciplinary international steering committees to guide program activities
  • Build effective monitoring and evaluation systems and processes to support continuous quality improvement and measurement of program results
  • Lead program funding and business development
  • Identify new funding sources, particularly from government and philanthropic sources
  • Report on contracts to funding providers
  • Maintain high level understanding of issues relating to the health and wellbeing of people who use drugs, with a specific focus on hepatitis C and infectious diseases
  • Maintain thorough understanding of INHSU's structure, functions, policies and procedures

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years' experience in program management with proven ability to develop, deliver and evaluate programs, preferably in the healthcare sector, not-for-profit sector or government sector. This should include experience in the management of project budgets and financial reporting
  • Experience in adult learning, learning design, clinical workforce development, or other knowledge translation activities for groups on issues relating to the health of people who use drugs, with a specific focus on infectious diseases
  • Business development acumen including understanding of sponsorship, philanthropic grant and government funding processes, and proven ability to secure program funding
  • Experience building effective and sustainable monitoring and evaluation systems and processes
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to write, proof and edit a range of materials including high level policy documents, grant applications, funder reports, correspondence with stakeholders, and training materials
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships at an operational and strategic level
  • Ability to work independently to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a high pressure, high volume work environment

Benefits & Salary

Generous salary packaging, leave loading, 10% superannuation in addition to base salary, TOIL (time off in lieu) and flexible working arrangements, including ability to work from home and during hours that suit you. There is also the possibility of international travel. The salary range is $86,384 per annum to $112,596 per annum, dependent on level of experience.
