About the role

ARRCS Community Care programs provide support under government-funded programs for aged and disability clients. These positions are the connections to inspiring the lives of our resident’s care and well-being, with culturally appropriate, social and recreational activities to inspire and empower our residents and make a difference

We now have an opportunity for a Part-Time Personal Care Assistant with the ability to take part in the Activity Officer role when required. These positions are the connections to inspiring the lives of our resident’s care and well-being, with culturally appropriate, social and recreational activities to inspire and empower our residents and make a difference. To develop informal activity programs to improve and maintain the quality of life of individuals in residential and or community service, consistent with ARRCS’ mission.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in assisting elders and people living with a disability with the activities of daily living
  • Reliable transport, registration, and insurance
  • You will demonstrate the knowledge to monitor and review the recreational needs of the residents and implement the appropriate programs.
  • Prior experience planning and delivering culturally appropriate activities for indigenous Australians
  • Ability to display a caring and compassionate attitude at all times
  • Certificate III or above in Lifestyle and Leisure will be highly desirable
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and work within a culturally diverse team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An ability to undertake a range of manual handling functions related to the role
  • Must have a current influenza vaccination, National Police Check, First Aid Certificate, OCHRE card and NT Drivers’ License or a willingness to obtain prior to commencing
