arbias Community Program Services are group-based community access activities supporting the diverse needs of people with an acquired brain injury (ABI) and other complex needs who reside in Supported Residential Services (SRS). These programs have expertise in working with people with complex needs, at risk of becoming isolated from the community and who have an alcohol or other substance related brain impairment.

arbias NDIS Core Support Services supports people to re-engage with their community through building relationships both formal and informal supports within the person’s local community, employment readiness, substance abuse treatment options, goal identification and person-centred planning to achieve identified goals. The program currently operates across the Melbourne metropolitan regions.

In this diverse role you will:

Community Programs:

  • Work within a small team to deliver community-based activities to clients with an ABI, and other complex needs who reside in an SRS or in the community.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including SRS Clients, Home Managers & Staff.
  • Plan activities in advance based on the expressed wishes of the clients.
  • Assist with the completion of required documentation of all clients (e.g: consent forms and risk assessments).
  • Administrative tasks (ie: complete Daily Activity Sheet on Share Point).
  • Ensure all data collection (HACC) is completed as per funding requirements.
  • Complete morning duties preparing food and drinks for the group outing scheduled.
  • Collection and store food from food bank agency on a rotating roster.
  • Adhere to Food Handling Safety protocols.
  • Other duties as directed.

NDIS Core Support Services:

  • Assist with the Administration (Consent forms and Risk Assessments).
  • Provide support as detailed in the support plan to assist the individual to achieve their goals.
  • Work with the individual to engage with community, undertake activities of daily living and build capacity in them to manage their support requirements.
  • Undertake all support within person-centred planning principles and active support practices.
  • Case-noting and other administration tasks that may be needed to support the client.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Cert 4 in Disability Support, Mental Health or AOD or equivalent
  • Well-developed computer skills
  • First aid level 2
  • Current Police Check
  • Current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
  • Current Victorian Driver's License
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
