Family Safety Case Managers x2

Australian Refugee Association Inc

The Australian Refugee Association Inc. (ARA) is a community-based organisation providing settlement, migration, and other forms of assistance to refugees, migrants and other people of concern.

As a member of our team, you will be supporting new arrivals in South Australia to achieve their social, economic, cultural and community participation goals. You will be making a difference in the lives of individuals and families as they re-establish themselves in a new home.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Family Safety Case Manager delivers African-specific Multicultural Family Support Services within ARA’s broader Family Safety program. The role provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed support, information, and referrals to refugee and migrant individuals and families experiencing family relationship challenges, domestic and family violence (DFV), parenting concerns, and child wellbeing issues.

The position combines case management, group-based parenting support, and community engagement to strengthen the safety, wellbeing, and resilience of African Australian families across metropolitan Adelaide. It uses a family-focused, strengths-based approach that recognises the impacts of trauma, settlement, and intergenerational dynamics, while promoting early intervention, prevention, and targeted support.

Group Program Delivery

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate culturally responsive parenting group programs.
  • Adapt program content to reflect African cultural contexts, parenting practices, and lived experiences.
