  • Role: Employed (Full-time, part-time - minimum 0.6 FTE)
  • Location: Will depend on allocated Residential Aged Care Facilities. Region for this program includes LGAs of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong, Melton, Moorabool, Wyndham, Moonee Valley

Remuneration:

  • Above award remuneration - hourly rate will reflect experience and skills
  • Salary packaging (up to $15,900 package and $2,650 in meals/entertainment benefits)
  • Superannuation rate of 12%

About the role:

APMHA Healthcare Ltd (APMHA) is recruiting clinicians to join our Older Minds Program, supporting the mental health and wellbeing of older Australians living in residential aged care.

We are seeking passionate and experienced mental health clinicians with strong counselling and therapeutic skills, particularly those with experience working with older people. In this rewarding role, you will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, evidence-based psychological interventions, and collaborative care planning for residents of aged care facilities. You will work closely with residents, families, aged care staff, GPs and other health professionals to improve mental health outcomes and quality of life.

You will ideally possess:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing, Social Work or Psychology (Mandatory) and registration with AHPRA/AASW.
  • Must have mental health endorsements, or eligible to apply for same.
  • Experience working with people with mental illness and delivering psychological therapies across a broad range of presentations.
  • High levels of emotional intelligence and the ability to engage and work with multidisciplinary teams and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with general practice, mental health services and program staff.
  • Sound IT skills to enable full application of APMHAs virtual systems including client management system experience.
  • Up to date COVID, Influenza vaccinations are required.
