The Alcohol and Other Drug Consumer & Community Coalition (AODCCC) is the peak body for alcohol and other drug, consumer and community led Systemic Advocacy in Western Australia. Our aim is to empower the voices of consumers, their families, carers, and significant others, to promote the interests, education, and welfare of those affected by alcohol and other drug use.

About the Funding and Grants Officer Role

Reporting to the Executive Manager, the Funding and Grants Officer is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing grant and funding opportunities that support the organisation’s programs, growth, and strategic objectives.

You will proactively build and maintain relationships with philanthropic, state, and federal funding bodies, identify and research funding opportunities, and prepare high-quality grant and funding applications to support organisational growth and community impact.

The Funding and Grants Officer will also be responsible to develop streamlined grant and funding application processes, resources, and templates that improve response times, increase submission quality, and capture organisational knowledge for future opportunities.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Identify, research, and assess grant and funding opportunities from philanthropic, corporate, local, state, and federal funding sources.
  • Develop and submit high-quality grant applications, funding proposals, expressions of interest, and tender responses.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with funding bodies, philanthropic organisations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain funding systems, templates, tools, workflows, and processes that support timely and consistent responses to funding opportunities.
  • Develop and manage a centralised knowledge base of funding opportunities, applications, outcomes, reporting requirements, and organisational capability statements.
  • Track funding pipelines, submission deadlines, and funding outcomes, providing regular reports to the Executive Manager
  • Collaborate with the AODCCC team to identify funding priorities and align applications with organisational strategic objectives.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of emerging funding trends, government priorities, and philanthropic investment opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of long-term funding strategies that support organisational sustainability and growth.

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing, funding acquisition, fundraising, business development, or a related role.
  • Proven ability to research, prepare, and submit successful funding applications and proposals.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to develop persuasive and evidence-based submissions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Highly developed organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience developing and implementing systems, processes, templates, or resources that improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise initiative, and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and database or records management systems.
  • Commitment to the organisation's values and community outcomes.

Desirable

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Community Development, Public Administration, Communications, Finance, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within the community services, or not-for-profit sectors.
  • Knowledge of state and federal government funding programs and philanthropic funding environments.
  • Experience managing funding agreements, acquittals, compliance, and reporting obligations.
  • Demonstrated success in securing significant grant or funding outcomes.
  • Project management or fundraising-related qualifications or certifications.

OTHER EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must hold Australian citizenship or be a permanent resident of Australia.
  2. Must hold a current driver’s license, have a working vehicle and willingness to use it for work related tasks. (All work related vehicle usage will be reimbursed).
  3. National Police Clearance (obtained no less than 3 months from date of employment) (Please note criminal history will not be an automatic barrier to employment)

This role is a part-time (2 days per week), fixed term position to June 30th, 2027.

Level 4, Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Award.

Salary packaging is available.
