About the Role:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced disability support workers for our Enhancing Independence program. Successful applicants will be required to provide a high level of direct care and support to our participants. We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic disability support workers who have experience working in this industry, to provide quality in-home and community support to people with disabilities. Our Enhancing Independence Program provides 1:1 support to people with disabilities in their home and their community across 7 days per week.

We currently have lots of shifts available.

What you could be doing:

In home:

  • Assist with personal care and hygiene tasks;
  • Provide assistance with housework such as meal preparation;
  • Companionship;

In the Community:

  • Transport to access their local community to shop or meet up with friends
  • Escort to medical and allied health appointments
  • Some manual handling with aids

What we need from you:

  • A strong desire to help people to remain at home and connected to their community
  • A professional outlook and ability to act in a compassionate, non-judgemental manner, good understanding of own personal and professional boundaries;
  • A minimum of 3 days per week (not weekends) Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Care or higher, or currently studying towards
  • A valid police check that was completed within the last 6 months
  • Current CPR qualifications with at least 3 months before expiry and First Aid with at least 6 months before expiry
  • Current driver's license and own reliable vehicle
