About the Opportunity

Please note: This is a short-term position until 31 December 2026 with the possibly of extension

As Centre Manager, headspace, you'll have the opportunity to lead a purpose-driven service that makes a real difference in the lives of young people and their families. This role combines strategic leadership, service innovation, stakeholder engagement, and operational oversight, allowing you to shape a high-performing multidisciplinary team while driving positive community outcomes.

Working at the intersection of mental health, primary care, and youth wellbeing, you'll build strong partnerships, influence service development, and ensure young people have access to safe, inclusive, and impactful support.

You will:

  • Manage remote outreach programs, integrating Social & Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) approaches
  • Build strong partnerships with Aboriginal communities, local services, and stakeholders
  • Ensure the centre meets clinical, operational, and funding requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement, service innovation, and cultural safety

About you

You’re a confident, values-driven leader with a strong background in health, mental health, or community services. You will bring:

  • A relevant degree (e.g. allied health, psychology, social work, youth work, mental health nursing)
  • Extensive leadership and management experience in a health or community setting
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and build a positive workplace culture
  • Experience working with young people, including responding to complex and high-risk situations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills
  • A deep commitment to culturally safe practice, particularly with Aboriginal communities
  • Understanding of service systems, quality frameworks, and program accountability
