The Position:

The Youth and Family Services Worker position offered within the Homelessness Team aims to;

  • Provide high quality intake, assessment, planning and / or case management to young people and adults who are requesting a homelessness service response
  • Take responsibility for key program deliverables, support the management and governance of the program and team

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

  • A tertiary qualification in a related field such as Social Work/Welfare, or substantial experience in the relevant service stream.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the youth and family service system and homelessness sector, including legislative and policy framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of assessment and casework practice to vulnerable children, young people, adults and families, where risk of, or presenting issues of homelessness are present.
  • Well-developed skills and experience in delivering programs and services within required time frames, and meeting performance and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated well developed verbal and written communication, effective in problem solving, dispute resolution, advocacy for clients and service planning.  
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team and fostering a positive culture.

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
