The key responsibilities of the role will require the practitioner to work within a specialist Men’s/Perpetrator discipline within an Integrated Practice Framework to deliver Hub services. Including providing response and support to perpetrators of family violence.
A key recommendation of the Royal Commission and the Roadmap for Reform was to establish a network of Support and Safety Hubs (‘Hubs’) across Victoria to provide a new way for women, children and young people experiencing family violence, and families who need assistance with the care and wellbeing of children to access the services they need to be safe and supported. These Hubs are known as The Orange Door. The Orange Door delivers a fundamental change to the way we work with women, children and families, and men.
The Orange Doors brings together different workforces and practices to create an integrated Orange Door team and a consolidated intake point in each Orange Door area to create a new way of support for:
The Orange Door Senior Practitioners will work as part of an integrated team to provide specialist support to perpetrators, adults, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence and families who need extra support with the care of children. In this role you will be responsible for the provision of services to perpetrators of family violence referred to The Orange Door.
As a Senior Practitioner you will support people with advice with a focus on risk assessment, engagement, provision of an initial response and as a source of information to people referred to the Hub. You will work collaboratively as part of an integrated practice approach to respond to family violence and children and family vulnerability concerns through the provision of;

A mandatory minimum qualification policy will apply to specialist family violence practitioners who enter the workforce from 1 July 2021.
