Your role:

We have a great opportunity for an experienced and proactive Senior Payroll Officer to join our amazing and valued Payroll Team. Whilst you will ensure the end-to-end payroll requirements are met, you will also have the opportunity to support and coach others to develop their skills and knowledge and working closely with the Payroll Lead you will provide expert advice and support on payroll matters, and as we know some are complex,  drive efficiencies and enhancing processes. We strive to provide our employees with exceptional service, so they can focus on what matters, our clients. You will also be responsible for generating insightful reports, offering detailed analysis beyond raw data to help inform decision making.

In addition to running the fortnightly payroll for approximately 2,500 employees, with the SCHADS Award being our primary Award, you will manage manual payroll processing and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation. You will also contribute to shaping our future HRIS System as we move from Preceda to Dayforce, so experience in Preceda, Dayforce or large payroll systems, would be highly regarded. 

Make your Mark:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing, month-end, and year-end for a large workforce.
  • Employee centric approach to delivering excellent service
  • Ability to support and grow less experienced Payroll professionals
  • Expertise in managing complex payroll matters and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • An innate ability to streamline processes by engaging a suite of digital platforms that will enhance the quality of our payroll processing.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare complex, detailed reports and provide actionable insights.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll-related legislation and compliance requirements, including taxation, superannuation, awards, and industrial agreements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment, working independently, yet collaboratively to meet deadlines and assess competing priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
