Residential Youth Worker - Stand Up – Night Shift

Anglicare Victoria is seeking to employ a Youth Worker who will be appointed to the Stand Up night shift role in the Therapeutic Residential Care House.

  • Ongoing position available Outer Eastern Region (Stand Up Night Shift)
  • Applicants must be able to commit to set roster of shifts totalling 74 hours per fortnight

The Position:

As residential care youth workers you will be required to work within our residential framework to ensure quality service delivery in line with organisational and DHHS Residential care policy, standards and procedures. You will work directly with children and young people assisting them to develop day to day living skills, developing positive social skills while maintaining a safe and positive environment. You will also work within a broader team of staff and other key professionals to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of children and young people is maintained.

To Be Successful in this Position You Will Need:

  • A relevant qualification (minimum of Certificate IV) in social work, youth work, community services or a related area is a must.
  • An understanding of Trauma and how best to work with children and young people in Out of Home Care
  • Highly developed organisational and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently at night time and work in accordance with the overnight safety plans
  • The successful applicant will need to be relational and trauma informed and have the ability to work in a team environment. The applicant will need to be comfortable in the presence of animals, as their chickens and a therapy dog that live in the house
  • Ability to commit to a roster of overnight shifts totalling 74 hours per fortnight

Please Note: It is mandatory for the successful applicant to hold a current Working with Children Check and be prepared to undergo a National Criminal History Check prior to commencement.
